Chemical description
(To be edited, initial data ST OCT 04) Nitrofuran derivative used in urinary tract infections. Between 30% and 50% of the dose is excreted in urine in unchanged form. No further data on metabolism or CYP interaction. Australian list: unsafe/attacks. South African list: use with extreme caution only. Tschudy, Lamon: 1980 potentially unsafe. Moore MR, Hift RJ 1997: potentially unsafe. Martindale: Considerd unsafe, associated with attacks.
