Vast tissue distribution with accumulation in blood cells and in liver, lungs, kidneys and eyes. Partly converted by CYP 2D6 to de- ethylated metabolites. Slowly excreted with a terminal half life of 50 days. About 25% excreted by the kidneys in unchanged form.
