Metabolised by CYP 2D6. Substrate for CYPs 2C9 and 3A4. No clinical observations of CYP-induction.
Chemical description
Serotonine receptor antagonist used as antiemetic under chemotherapy, or as prophylaxis or treatment of postoperative nausea; 5-15 mg/d perorally or parenterally. Metabolized mainly by hydroxylation by the polymorphic CYP 2D6. Weak inhibitor of CYP 2D6. No clinical data pointing to CYP-inducing properties. South African list: No data/avoid
