Chemical description
Parenterally administered cephalosporin used in serious pneumonia, serious infections outgoing from the lungs and serious intra-abdominal infections. About 85% is excreted in unchanged form in urine. About 8% is excreted as primary or secondary metabolites. French list: use. South African list: use with caution. See: Jordan MC et al., No induction of CYPs observed in animal study.
