In greater part not metabolised. No clinical or experimental data pointing to CYP-interaction. Two references consider the drug safe or probably safe.
Chemical description
Parenterally administered cephalosporin used in serious pneumonia, serious infections outgoing from the lungs and serious intra abdominal infections. About 85% is excreted in unchanged form in urine. About 8% is excreted as primary or secondary metabilites. French list: use. South African list: use with caution. See: Jordan MC et al. Effect of cephalosporins..
