Propably not porphyrinogenic |
PNP |
Rationale
Only limited metabolism. Probably insignificant CYP-interaction. Conflicting references
Chemical description
Quinolone antibiotic, 65-80 % eliminated in unchanged form by glomerular filtration and tubular excretion over 24-48 hours. Less than 5% is eliminated in urine as metabolites. Slight CYP1A2 inhibition in vivo. To be observed: May interfere with screening tests for porphyrins in urine due to overlaping fluorescence emission at 600 nm. South African list: use with extreme caution only. French list: use. Metabolic basis..ref 383: safe. See also: Schoenfelt and Mamet. Interference of ofloxacin with determination of urinary porphyrins. Clin Chem 1994, 40; 417-19 (PMID 8131278)

Tradenames and packages
From some sources, we get a list of packages (United Kingdom, Ireland, Estonia).
Other sources contain more or less "clean" versions of the trade name (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Norway).
What you see here is the raw data we get from each country, so there will appear to be duplicates. The bold names
are the searchable terms. The gray names that follow are all mapped to the bolded term.
Note: The cleaning is done automatically by a proprietary algorithm, and it may produce errors.
We strive to improve it continuously.
