Insignificant hepatic metabolic load.
Chemical description
Parasympaticomimetic (tablets 5 or 10 mg x 3) used to increase salivation in postradiation xerostomia and in Sjogrens syndrome. A small part converted to pilocarpinic acid and excreted in urine together with the unchanged substance. Cmax in the ng range. Inhibitor of CYPs 2A6, 3A4, 2E1.
